How our partnership works

Baysora is a long-term holding company backed by family offices. When your firm partners with us, you keep your name, your culture, and the way you serve clients. You gain a team behind you and a stake in what we build together.

A partnership with real people behind it

Partnering with Baysora means working alongside people who know you and your firm. Conversations are open, decisions are made with you, and when you need a hand, you call someone you already know.

“I don’t feel like I have a boss. I feel like I have partners.”

Bryan Whiting, CTO & Partner, Milestone Advisors

Built for decades

Most acquirers build for two to three years. We’re building for two to three decades and beyond, so every decision is made with your firm’s long-term success in mind.

1

Patient capital

Our capital comes from family offices, with no fixed hold period and no planned exit.

2

Equity that grows with the group

You keep a stake at the holding company level, so your equity grows with the value of every firm in the group.

3

Liquidity on your timeline

Partners reach liquidity on their own timeline, and we walk through exactly how when we talk.

“This is a long-term portfolio of really strong boutique firms that are just trying to further the legacy of what they’ve already built.”

Ryan Rees, Managing Partner, Hartle & Rees

Questions owners ask us

Is Baysora private equity?

Baysora is a long-term holding company backed by family offices. We have no fund cycle and no fixed hold period, so we plan to own and support your firm for decades.

Will you tell me how to run my firm?

Clients, culture, hiring, pay, and daily operations stay with you and your leaders. A few major decisions, like large changes to the annual budget or acquisitions, we make together. Our Autonomy Charter puts that commitment in writing.

Do I have to rebrand?

Your brand stays yours. We’ll guide you through the few naming updates industry regulations require, and everything else about how clients know your firm is up to you.

Do I have to change my software or systems?

The tools you use to serve clients stay your call. Your firm’s own books move to a shared accounting standard on a modern, cloud-based system, so you get clearer numbers and we can report as one company. Our finance team leads the setup and onboarding with your help, and you get newer technology at group pricing. If your firm already runs on a cloud system that’s working well, you may be able to keep it.

What happens to my team?

They stay with the leaders they know. Our model invests in people and adds capacity, and your rising leaders gain a path to ownership.

Will my clients notice?

Only if you want them to. Your brand, your people, and the way you serve clients stay in place.

If Baysora never sells, how do I get paid?

Part of your firm’s value comes to you at close, and the rest is equity you keep in the holding company. Partners reach liquidity on their own timeline, and we walk through exactly how when we talk.

How long do I need to stay involved?

As long as you want to lead. Some owners keep leading for years, and others hand off gradually to the next generation we help develop. We plan your role and your succession together from the start.

Will I have to make acquisitions?

Acquisitions are always your choice. If you decide to grow that way, we help find the opportunity, run diligence, and fund the deal with you.

How long does the process take?

We can go from first conversation to close in as little as 60 to 75 days, and we’ll always move at your pace. Once you share the information we need, you can have an offer in about a week.

What do you need from me to make an offer?

High-level financials to start, typically three years of profit and loss statements and year-to-date performance. Deeper diligence comes later, once you’ve seen an offer and decided to move forward.

Are our conversations confidential?

Yes. We sign a mutual NDA early in the process, before you share financials.

How do I know you’ll do what you say?

Ask our partners. Before you decide, we’ll introduce you to owners who’ve been through it, and you can hear from them on our Partner Stories page.

Is my firm big enough?

We partner with established boutique firms of different sizes. A first conversation is the quickest way to find out whether we’re a fit, and we’ll tell you plainly either way.

I’m not ready to do anything this year.

Most owners start thinking years before they act, and the best partnerships grow out of a relationship built early. We’d still like to meet you now, learn what you’re planning, and stay in touch on whatever timeline works for you. Our Owner’s Guidebook and Valuation Calculator are good companions while you think it through.
